Dr. Bertha L. Davis is a graduate of Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL, where she received the bachelor of science in nursing in 1972. She received the master of education in rehabilitation counseling from Coppin State College, Baltimore, MD, in 1975; master of science in psychiatric nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, MD, in 1977; doctor of philosophy in higher education from Washington State University, Pullman, WA, in 1983; and diploma in strategy and policy from the Naval War College, Newport, RI, in 2001. Dr. Davis is a Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) in the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corps. She is the past chairperson of the Department of Graduate Nursing Education, director of the Community Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing Track, dean of the School of Nursing, administrator of the Nursing Center and Health Mobile, assistant dean for Research, and is currently a professor and director of the Nurse Educator Track and the PhD in Nursing program.
